Andheri  Station, Mumbai: Bridge Collapses on Railway Tracks. 



A part of the foot overbridge collapsed in Andheri station, Mumbai on the railway tracks on Tuesday, 3rd July. As per the reports, the bridge collapsed around 7:30 am injuring 5 people who have been rushed to the hospital. The bridge collapse has disrupted the western line train services. 

Western railway has tweeted, "Restoration of OHE & tracks bet Andheri & Vile Parle which is affected due to the falling of part of ROB is underway. Trains are working bet Virar - Goregaon & Bandra-Churchgate but It is advised to travel only if its very necessary to avoid inconvenience please. #WRUpdates @drmbct"

It is also reported the debris is being cleared from the tracks and within four hours the railway will start functioning.

Apple making maps from scratch

Apple has received a lot of criticism in the past for the apple maps. Even after being one of the most used applications in the phone, it failed to provide a decent service. Maps are one feature in the iOS devices that have been roasted a lot for incorrect information and bugs and Apple is aware that maps need fixing.  As per the reports of technology publications techcrunch, Apple has admitted that previous maps were a lot about getting directions and reaching places but now maps will be taken to the next level.  The new maps will be launched with iOS 12 beta in San Francisco and Bay Area and later every iOS device will receive the map update. The only tech giant that owns the complete map stack is google and in order to compete with Google maps, Apple cannot rely on third parties like TomTom and other data brokers for the providing best services.

Meet the Woman Who saved 30,000 Cats in 26 Years

Lynea Lattanzio, the incredible woman who founded and runs The Cat House on the Kings  has saved 30,000 cats in 26 years.  The sanctuary provides a safe and loving environment to abandoned, homeless and rescued cats. It is also the home of more than 700 cats and 300 kittens.  What makes this sanctuary so unique is it's a no-kill and no-cage cat sanctuary where animals roam freely in 4200 sq feet . They also provide facilities like adoption and low-cost spaying and neutering.  The 12-acre sanctuary is situated in California and relies on donations from people and 45 volunteers for taking good care of the cats. They also educate people on how to be a responsible pet owner and how they can get involved in animal welfare.   She says, "You have to be on the very top of the job because you have a lot of cats that you are responsible for. There is no point in rescuing them and taking them in if you can't take care of them". ...
